https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=194711 ------- Comment #46 from bugproxy@us.ibm.com 2006-12-27 11:35 MST ------- changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|ASSIGNED |NEEDINFO ------- Additional Comments From suzukikp@in.ibm.com (prefers email at suzuki@in.ibm.com) 2006-12-27 13:30 EDT ------- I think java is trying to the the j9bin directory using the dladdr() of a function within the libjm.so. In the succeeding case, we see the following : 21315: file=/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/jre/bin/libj9vm22.so [0]; needed by /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/jre/bin/j9vm/libjvm.so [0]. So this indicates the dladdr call returns the file libjvm.so, from which the path is detected properly. But in the failing case, we have 21402: file=/libj9vm22.so [0]; needed by /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 [0] So, that means the dladdr call has returned the ld itself. This makes the java assume a wrong path for the lib to be loaded. Novell, So far the glibc built from the src rpm has worked fine for me. Could you please let me know if you are building the "shipped glibc rpm" with a different approach or with different options for the rpmbuild ? Thanks.
