https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229169 Summary: pdns-recursor handling odd Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: seth.arnold@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I upgraded from SLED10 to OS10.2 using the network install disc. I use the pdns-recursor to perform DNS lookups under SLED 10. So my /etc/resolv.conf is configured with "nameserver 127.0.0.1". But the installer didn't start up powerdns -- and while some of the system used its own resolver, other parts of the system tried to use the resolver configured in /etc/resolve.conf. It'd be nice if it would entirely use /etc/resolv.conf or entirely ignore /etc/resolv.conf during an upgrade. It'd be stunning if the installer knew to start pdns-recursor if it is configured on in the standard runlevels. :) But I'd be happy to settle on consistency..
