https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226315 Summary: sax sets up incorrect display parameters during installation Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: kev_l@dsl.pipex.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I installed Suse10.1 on a via epia M6000 mini ITX pc. Installation detected monitor type via DDC and correctly listed vertical and horizontal frequency range (I checked these as well as screen dimensions etc during setup) When testing configuration (via the button on the setup screen) the screen goes blank and the monitor displays "out of range" message. The only way I can get this to work is by booting to a command prompt and manually running XF86Config and manually selecting a VESA monitor. When I read the resulting Xorg.conf file thus produced it has no modlines specified but gives me a working 1280x1024@60.4Hz display. The Xorg.conf file produced by the installation routine had lots of modlines specified which I can only presume are incorrect. The settings for the monitor H and V frequencies are correct however. The problem is that if I now run YAST and change any device which causes the Xorg.conf to be rewritten then I loose the display. I have since repeated the installation with the same result. Also tied Suse 10.0 with the same result. I must stress that the monitor works fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
