https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=225580 ------- Comment #5 from ms@novell.com 2006-12-04 02:23 MST ------- To clarify some issues. 1) You are right xfine is meant to be an internal tool for sax2. xfine only saves your changes and only in combination with sax2 the changes are used and validated for migration into the xorg.conf. the modeline changes are saved in /var/cache/xfine 2) It is also correct that xfine operates on the currently active resolution. xfine is using the vidmode extension to query the current timings. The problem is if you are using krandrtray which means you are using the randr extension to switch the resolution it is possible that different timings are used compared to the modelines of the current configuration file. You need to know that randr has its own understanding of timings and doesn't use the modeline timings set in xorg.conf. Because of this sax2 is not able to find the original timings and replace them with the changes you made. I'm sorry but these tools are not compatible to each other -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
