https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=224102 ------- Comment #2 from johnelliottmartin@gmail.com 2006-11-28 15:16 MST ------- I tried the i810beta driver and now things are better, but buggy. Let me explain. With the i810beta driver these are the problems: - pressing ctrl+alt+[1-6] to get to a text login works, but there is no video, not even a back light. - the xv video driver does not load. Changing the video driver in xine to opengl works though for video playback. - there is a flicker on my laptop's lcd display that is akin to a CRT. What works: - resume from s2ram -f and then playing video's. After trying this I decided to try the i810 driver again and switch the video playback to opengl and see if that fixed things, so now here's the rundown: What works with the i810: - video playback (using opengl) after s2ram -f - switching to a text console and back to X What doesn't work: - the mouse pointer doesn't appear anywhere. It works, but the cursor is gone. So it's almost there using opengl for the video playback driver, but as the default behaviour for xine's video driver is auto, and the first driver that works is xv, this means it will be broken for anyone who doesn't know to change it. And not have a mouse pointer is a drawback too :) Any ideas? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
