https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223524 ------- Comment #12 from eich@novell.com 2006-11-26 13:44 MST ------- I can't. I have no access to the sources presently. The load mechanism for app-defaults is slightly obscure and configure provides an option to set the app-defaults directory - which is however only to set the directory that is reported by pkgconfig. The configure option for Xt is general and applies to loading of other files as well (I assume the patch does, too) with the additional merit that it doesn't require a patch. - Has the font loading issue been adressed yet (xorg.conf, fontconfig)? - What do we do about /usr/X11R6/bin? The file system package could check if /usr/X11R6/bin is there and if not create a link to /usr/bin. This would usually not work on updates. I could not come up with a convincing set of steps to be taken during an update. One could check if files in /usr/X11R6/bin can be moved to /usr/bin (either they don't exist there or point to the same inode). If all files can be moved we go haed and move, delete the directory and recrate it as a link in a postinstall script. In all other cases it's probably be the saves to bail and notify the user that there may be a problem. I don't think it's save to move the directory away - this sould make the installation database inconsistent with the file system and verification of packages will fail. Looking at an updated system there are only a few files left in /usr/X11R6/bin. Except for acroread I don't understand why. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
