https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222498 Summary: bootloader in YAST Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ed@markedt.nl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com After installation of openSuse 10.2 beta 2 the pc could not boot from harddisk. Editing the bootloader in Yast was no option, it did not work. After booting CD1 and in terminal window I started GRUB and gave the following commands: root (hd0,0) setup (hd0) This seems to be the solution, the pc started from harddisk. Later I wanted to hide the boot menu. I started the Yast Bootloader and changed the parameter hidemenu. Again the pc didnot boot from harddisk. Also in this case this was solved by the commands 'root (hd0,0)' and 'setup (hd0)'. Also the bootmenu did not appear when booting. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
