- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx

- Message-id: <bug-216115-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216115
Summary: Enable XFree86RaiseVolume etc. by default
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Beta 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE
AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@xxxxxxx
ReportedBy: sven.burmeister@xxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
I am not sure whether this is a basesystem, YaST or KDE issue, so please feel
free to re-assign.
I wanted to have a look at the new Evolution widescreen-view, so I got ubuntu
6.10 and tried to install it, which failed. So what.
Since it is a live-cd that starts-up the desktop before installing the system,
I did notice though that my volume-wheel on the keyboard worked without me
setting up anything. So either gnome or the system itself must have done
something differently than openSUSE 10.2, KDE 3.5.5 respectively.
This is a Logitech Cordless Keyboard and if I set the keyboard layout manually
to that type in kcontrol, the keys work perfectly. Yet if it can be done
automatically, I do not see why the user should have to bother.
