https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215173 Summary: SuSE 10.1 fails to properly set up SCSI Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bruce.butterfield@aeroflex.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Computer: AMD Athelon XP 1800, 512 RAM OS: SuSE 10.1, No updates System has a PCI Adaptec SCSI card: identified by YaST as ABP940U / ABP960U The SCSI card supports up to (8) devices connected to it, but currently the system has only one device connected: a UMAX Astra 1200S scanner When SuSE 10.1 was installed, the scanner power was OFF. When an attempt was made at a later time to access the scanner, using YaST to set up the scanner, it was discovered that the SCSI system does not detect the presence of the scanner. The maintainer for YaST determined that the SCSI system was not set up correctly, and so YaST could not find the scanner. My system hardware is functional, and I have been using Knoppix to access the scanner until SuSE gets configured. A full description of the testing done to this point is provided in Bug 213666. The bug was marked "invalid" because the YaST maintainer determined that it was improperly assigned as a YaST problem rather than as a SCSI or Installation issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
