https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214929 Summary: Inconsistencies with X.org configuration Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: rplewe@novell.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com During installation, my system was correctly identified with a resolution of 1400x1050 (see xorg.conf.orig) so I didn't change any default. After installation, however, I was presented with a 1024x768 resolution. Rebooting didn't help. I started sax2, generated a new configuration (having renamed the old one), saw the proposal of 1400x1050, and accepted the default (after testing it, see xorg.conf.sax2). After restarting X (init 2, init 5) I still had 1024x768. I manually edited the xorg.conf file to delete all entries not 1400x1050 (xorg.conf), and still got 1024x768 upon restart. After some time, I did another X restart, and the resolution was 1400x1050. I may have not done the X restart properly on all occasions (afterwards, you're never 100% sure, but the shell history suggests I did it properly). But in any case: During installation a resolution is detected, that is not realized after installation. And sax2 seems to have configured and successfully tested a resolution that was not visible after an X restart. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
