https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214254 Summary: rbash and default alias for ls Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: werner@novell.com ReportedBy: lmuelle@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de In /etc/bash.bashrc we try to detect the used shell and handle bash and rbash in the same way. Based on the shell some aliases - e.g. for ls - are set. The ls alias in particular is set to '/bin/ls ...'. Such an absolute filename for programs does not work with rbash. It results in "rbash: /bin/ls: restricted: cannot specify `/' in command names". As a workaround I added a check to /etc/bash.bashrc.local if our shell is rbash. The check used the same code as from /etc/bash.bashrc and failed as rbash is a sym link to bash. Therefore our shell is reported as bash and not rbash. If rbash is a hard link to bash in /bin it works well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
