https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=186074 ------- Comment #30 from to_jest_moj_mail@o2.pl 2006-10-10 17:18 MST ------- Read this Cristian https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=186074#c18 This solves problems 1 and 3 I think. As for the problem number 2... Come on... How much space do these mirrors have? 300GB, 500, 2TB, more? How fast are their connections? 50Mb, 70Mb? Mirrors download this stuff only once, only when the distribution is officially released and that's it. There are alpha and beta releases, of course, but these shold remain as i586 optimized I think. You guys keep on repeating that using i686 will give no speed gain... Why would gcc devs implement this then? Why would they create CPU-specific optimization options and tweaks at all? Couldn't they simply stick with i386. This would make our lives easier... Because slower things are easier to handle you know. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
