https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207883 Summary: logdigest fails if ignore.local contains an empty line Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: poeml@novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de If /etc/logdigest/ignore.local contains an empty line, logdigest does not report anything from the logfiles. This can make the admin believe that there are no unusual events in the logfile. With some bad luck, security-relevant problems are overlooked. Also, it is a bit hard to detect because whitespace is usually invisible ;-) I suggest to add a check for ^[ ]*$ (where the whitespace includes space and tab) and to print a big warning message (in the logdigest mail) if such a line is found in ignore{,.local} or alert{,.local}. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
