https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=191174 ------- Comment #21 from suse@netio.org 2006-09-15 23:21 MST ------- Due to the reported graphics problems and my schedule I didn't test Alpha3. I did test Alpha4. Same hardware as before, no changes. Downloaded 5 CDs for 10.2 Alpha 4, as well as the non-oss disc. Also added a couple of RPMs and created a DVD using makeSUSEdvd. Default install of openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 4 from DVD with Gnome desktop. No extra packages selected. The original problem with random lines and other garbage or artifacts left on the screen appears to be resolved, however there is still a significant problem with redrawing the screen. Plus once the X server locked up using 99% CPU. I could SSH in and kill it, but couldn't recover console access (X or normal text); I had to reboot. WIth 10.4, the screen isn't refreshed properly. For example, open Firefox, go to Google, type in a search query, hit enter. The browser window clears and part of the new page is displayed, but not all. If you use the mouse and highlight text, you can see what's there. If you scroll the page down, it doesn't erase the previous text, and you have to select and highlight the text again to read the new screen. Elements from the original screen remain with the new screen. When moving the window, the window is not redrawn. However, if you move the mouse to the general area where the new window should be, with a little luck, you can click around and find buttons or other screen elements on the page, which are then drawn. Mousing over the minimize, maximize, and exit buttons causes them to be drawn. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
