Moreover the SMP issue is a potential cause of problems for me, so I considered the bugzilla the right place. One driver which has problems with SMP is the ralink one. It's already unstable on non-SMP kernels, and has to be patched for SMP. I doubt the result will be great. As I already said, ndiswrapper is reported to work bad with many cards with the SMP kernel. I know ndiswrapper is not supported by Novell, but it's used by many users to get wireless cards working. Also, it's pointless in my opinion to have the SMP kernel on a non-SMP processor. Honestly I don't see any need to do this change. It seems just an arbitrary decision of Novell to make things simpler for the product mainteinance, but not for the users. I hope to be wrong.
