Dear Andreas.

What is the proper forum to discuss adding another service to our infrastructure? IMO before such a server gets deployed it should be discussed in proper form. In this case, I think the project mailing list is the one as it's the most generic one.
When you ask there, please answer: * What benefit does this give us?
I just want to line out a few benefits a custom paste service has: New (and also experienced) users are often pointed to a paste service (e.g. pastebin.com) to provide additional information. It would be great if this paste service is branded in openSUSE design to remind users which distro they should 'love' :) Let me give you an example: in Fedora fpaste.org is the suggested pastebin. It contains a nice logo and has a short url (not sure if that would also be the case for paste.opensuse.org, maybe for paste.suse.de). I tend to use fpaste in most cases, even if they are not fedora related, because they created a good 'brand'. pastebins often offer similar functionality but the one Michal created contains all the best.
* Why should we maintain another server instead of using a public service?
.. because of the above benefits :)
* What is the requirement on the server for this?
I think this service should be quite easy to maintain. If you need any help on infrastructure side, feel free to contact me. Best Regards Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-boosters+help@opensuse.org
