Where did you get yast2-installation-2.9.89-0.2.noarch.rpm from?
http://sdb.suse.de/download/i386/update/SUSE-CORE/9/rpm/noarch/yast2-install... If this isn't the correct URL to fetch updates for SLES9 (vs SuSE 9) please let me know where I should get those.
There was a patch which was removed just because of this problem, for this to work, you also need to update yast2-2.9.*.rpm.
I have yast2-2.9.75-0.2 from the SLES-9-i386-RC5-CD2.iso from download.novell.com. I can't find any updates anywhere for this.

Greetings,
I seem to have found a bug. The latest yast2-installation RPM does not provide an installation client module:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ linux:~ # rpm -qa | grep ^yast2-installation yast2-installation-2.9.86-0.2 linux:~ # yast2 installation
linux:~ # rpm -Uvh yast2-installation-2.9.89-0.2.noarch.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:yast2-installation ########################################### [100%] linux:~ # rpm -qa | grep ^yast2-installation yast2-installation-2.9.89-0.2 linux:~ # yast2 installation No such client module installation Run 'yast2 -h' for help on usage ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means that if yast2-installation-2.9.89-0.2.noarch.rpm is included in an autoyast updates directory the installation will not complete: network devices aren't set up, passwords aren't set, etc. If I remove this package and rebuild the descriptions the installation goes as expected.
So, this is an FYI to the list and a request to any SuSE/Novell people to get this corrected.
Regards,
-Deke
