I work in a Linux support role, administrating a very large number of Linux machines. I have just set up a central SuSE 8.0 autoinstall server from which various departments around site can install their Linux machines. Each of these departments will have a different configuration and will therefore need a different XML config file.
I think it would be great if I could put something on my webpages that will instruct people around my site on how to use the server I have set up. This would include a section on the site where they could make up their own config file.
I was wondering if there exists (or there are plans for) some sort of web front end that I can use to generate control files. I would guess that there is currently nothing available to do this and as such would like to make a request/suggestion that this be included in future releases?
This is definitely on my TODO list but I am not sure it will be
available with 8.1. The XML format makes it very easy for example to create such
an interface with one of many www tools currently available. Especially
it would be easy to implement with PHP which has extensive XML support.
Regards.
