Speaking of resolutions. Here is is nice article on ultra high-res
monitors. Nothing to sweat about right now, but certainly something to
consider.

I was just thinking that the contributions we have so far are great. However, they do not meet the criteria for a wallpaper. At least for the distribution's purposes, we need artwork that is 1920X1200 as the max size for the picture. A vertically rectangular image cannot make it into the distribution. If we are taking pictures or creating artwork on GIMP or Inkscape, let's keep these size in mind, as it is the base size for the rest of our default included wallpapers.
Can we add this info to the flickr page?

1920x1200, still a common size and slightly larger.
Actually there are quite a few rules to establish. Here is link to the info we created at canonical: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Documentation/Backgrounds
Most of that page can be copied 1:1 :-)
