Yes for sure. Timezones are a problem to bear in mind.
But certainly a discussion group and perhaps IRC meeting. We could
also make a Google+ group or use Connect if it's working.
Right now I have an exam to study for, do you have an idea of timeline?
I think (maybe in discussion with Jos or older members who know who's
who) it would be useful to appoint a group leader, someone to
arbitrate discussion and keep things focused.
The tricky thing with artwork is taste. What one of us loves, another
hates. One of the reasons we tend to say that art people should make
the decisions, is because artists and designers are trained in
composition. I have a degree in Fine Art and even though artwork might
not be to my personal taste, I can still recognise good composition.
However I'm not a designer and don't quite keep up with current trends
as much as I should! So I'm usually happy to defer to someone with
experience in commercial design. Ideally I think the look of openSUSE
is a clean, modernist or contemporary one, and we complement that with
more traditional artwork to suit a range of users.

Helen

Are we willing to correlate our efforts and design at a meeting, either now or after the release of 12.1?
