I did tests with images from the above site on: openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2016.11.15-Build7. [4-6].raw.xz
All did show the Grub boot screen and continued, but stopped with a message on my TV screen as in the attached photo.
The last image I tested from this source, I believe, that did work was: openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi3_aarch64.aarch64-2016.10.18- Build7.9.raw.xz
The same message appeared as reported in my first message, but a few minutes later the system continued and after about 10 minutes the system prompt appeared on the screen. In the previous tests I did wait at least that long.
It even booted with a USB storage device attached.
I went on with this image and did a "zypper up --no-recommends". All went well and a reboot was very fast, even the scan on USB storage. A following reboot however, was not successful; scanning for the USB storage hung up the system, however unplugging the power and plugging in it again did boot the system again. So I decided to continue with installation of kernel-default-4.8.8-1.1 and dtb-broadcom-4.8.8-16.2 from openSUSE-Ports-Tumbleweed-repo-oss replacing these packages from Factory-Contrib-RPi3, which does not provide anything anymore. This was successful. Also some packages for Wi-Fi were loaded.
