thank you for advice. My insight is somewhat limited but I'm going to install the 4.4 kernel to verify the behaviour. Would a diff between 4.1.3 and 4.3.0 be helpful?
Fix on the way thanks to another bug report: http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=959818 Cheers, Andreas

after upgrading from kernel 4.1.3-2 to 4.3.0-2 (tumbleweed) usb devices are not longer detected. This happened on an olinuxiono lime2.
A fresh install of the tumbleweed image (build 353.1) on an olinuxino mirco shows the same behavior.
That was already reported for the Cubietruck: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-arm/2015-12/msg00018.html
As reported by Ancor and verified by me, it works fine with 4.4 kernels from Kernel:HEAD. I've diff'ed the 4.3.0-2 and 4.4-rc4 configs and noticed that new MUSB config options for sunxi appeared in 4.4, so it does not look like an obvious mistake of ours with 4.3. If you or Ancor have any insights on what happened there or even a patch I'll be happy to review it.
Cheers, Andreas
