I tried to use openSUSE-Factory-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi.armv6l-1.12.1- Build280.1.raw.xz from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/ Ra spberryPi:/upstream/images/ on a headless system.
When using the 13.2 image I have to remove the file /var/lib/YaST2/reconfig_system and the system boots and I can log in via ssh. However the image above does not have such a file and I don't see the Ethernet interface coming up.
So, the main problem is that the 280.1 image is broken and doesn't boot. It hangs at 'Starting kernel ...' after loading u-boot. The last image I tried headless was 266.3, and for that one I didn't need to do anything special. The YaST Firstboot stuff was disabled, so it went directly to a login prompt - and ssh was running.
I tried the latest, Build304.7 from April 17, but still the same problem. I don't have a working Ethernet connection. Is someone having the 266.3 and able to send it to me? Or is there something to circumvent this problem?
This one is definitely faulty. When after xzcat I mount lxroot and do "ls -l etc/" I get like the following: -????????? ? ? ? ? ? aliases d????????? ? ? ? ? ? aliases.d d????????? ? ? ? ? ? alternatives -????????? ? ? ? ? ? bash.bashrc d????????? ? ? ? ? ? bash_completion.d
I also tried Build293.7 from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/Rasp... which also does not give me ssh access, because Ethernet does not come up. At least this one does not have the faulty etc/ folder.
Is anyone interested in working on openQA support for serial port and those boards? I think that's the only sensible way forward to ensure we don't keep breaking random machines. Alex
