Thanx Jeff but I tried that in sax2 (I should have explained what I did better.) the monitor is not in database and if I set res to 1920x1200 the monitor sez no signal and I have to ctrl+alt+backspace to kill server. I am going to install 10.0 on my opteron 144 box with different graphics card 2day or 2morrow. I just installed 10.0 commercial and my 243T Samsung which runs at 1920x1200 on windows is limping along at 800x600.
If you're using KDE, hit the K Menu button and go to System -> Configuration -> Configure X11 System (SaX2). After inputting your root password, you should find the resolution settings there. It would make me cry to see an 800x600 resolution on 24" LCD monitor.
