RE: [suse-amd64] what frequency should my CPU run at?

Thanks for getting back to me. However, when I look at the cpuinfo_cur_freq all it does is hop between 1GHz and 2.2GHz - this is reminiscent of the earlier thread on powersaved?? Is this the expected behaviour?

The driver does what it's told to do. Bernd suggested a fix for this issue.

Also, I read somewhere that there is a hotfix to deal with AMD64 X2 TSC issues in Windows XP? I'm assuming that I need to apply this in a VM also - where do I find this hotfix?

Check the AMD, Microsoft, or VMWare site. Linux also is affected by this issue if you're using TSC and not PMTimer or HPET. -Mark Langsdorf AMD, Inc.
