Langsley T Russell
Hi all.
I installed SUSE 9.3 professional several days ago so I am very new to SUSE.
[...]
When I logged back on I was once again presented with that same gray screen. This time when I entered my user name and password it logged me into my KDE desktop. However none of the changes I had made were saved, things like my screen resolution etc. So I reset my screen resolution, reset my desired fonts and colors, installed Thunderbird, added a few things to my panel and decided to log off.
Once again when I clicked on log off the only choice I was given was "end session". I had no choice but to accept this. Now I find myself right back at that inescapable gray screen.
What am I doing wrong and how can I avoid it in the future?!
You have installed XDM as displaymanager, just install kdm or gdm. -Dieter -- Dieter Klünter | Systemberatung http://www.dkluenter.de GPG Key ID:8EF7B6C6
