Problem with telnet on SLES8 x86-64

I'm running SLES8 SP3 on a dual opteron system. We need to have telnet available for a couple of internal users (all root level login is done through ssh). We used to have telnet working, now however when we attempt to telnet to the machine we get the following error. Welcome to SuSE SLES 8 (powered by UnitedLinux 1.0) (AMD64) Kernel 2.4.21-212-smp (3). bsiarc1 login: p103saab Password: Module is unknown Connection to host lost. Is anyone familiar with this error or know where I should start looking? -Alain
