Does ati support amd64 platforms? Have you tried 2 nvidia chipset cards with their own driver made for amd64 from nvidia? B-) On Wednesday 28 April 2004 3:38 pm, Nathaniel Bevins wrote:

I had the two ati cards in a four head system on my Redhat 9 machine. The same XF86Config file does not work.
The is the basic XF86Config File I had on Redhat:

I used the BusID of 0x5157 because XFree4.3 does not know the 9200SE card. I was not getting hardware acceleration, but this was working without any problems.
With my new system, dual opteron 248 running on a MSI K8T Master FAR, I am having no luck. I started by using the same XF86Config, but this just locks up my box. I have checked the /var/log/XFree86.0.log, but it appears that X is just stopping right after the Int10 module is loaded. I am getting no errors or warnings. I got the 4 head to work twice, each time I brought the system up with two heads running of the same card, then I would go to run level 3, add the other card and bring X back up with startx or init 5. This would work until I rebooted the box. After a reboot, the same sequence resulted in a locked box.
I have upgraded to XFree86 4.4 which recognizes the 9200SE's but I am still only able to get one card working at a time. I used the standard radeon driver with no ChipID. I have tried the following options to my XF86Config file:
NoInt10 true ConnectedMonitor CRT,CRT NoAccel true
Any help would be create.
