I compiled ogle ok. It wasn't straight forward though. Make sure you have all the pre-reqs installed from the suse install disks, as it installs the 64-bit versions from there, otherwise you have to compile everything, libjpeg, libdvdread, libdvdnav, etc. Pre-built rpms won't work as they are all 32-bit. You have to compile a52 before you'll get ogle working also, as its not on the suse distro. The default for make is to pull from /usr/lib, which is 32-bit libraries so you'll get all kinds of symbol failures on link. You can either set LD_LBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib64 or (like me) you can vi the makefile in the root and in the mpeg2_video dir and change LDFLAGS to be /usr/lib64. I am still working on ogle_gui and/or kogle though (and wondering if its really worth it). Encrypted DVDs also don't work for me even though I have libdvdccs in /usr/lib. I am thinking I need a 64-bit version of libdvdccs, but haven't gotten there yet. --------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone managed to get any DVD playing software running properly under SuSE 9 for the AMD64?
I've got an ASUS K8V Deluxe MB and an NVIDIA GF5200FX video card, for what that's worth.
I've been trying, with little success, to compile a working version of the 'Ogle' DVD player, but am running into all sorts of dependency issues with RPMs, and missing library issues compiling from source.
