At last look (just checked again now), Tyan only had 8.2 Beta drives for Suse. These will not (for me) work with 9.0. What page are you looking at. Should also note that in a support email to me, Suse does not 'support' dual processor kernel. But Andreas Jaeger of Suse (on this mailing list), has built a SMP kernal and it works a treat. Suse builds 64 bit fine.
Tyan has drivers for the SATA controller integrated on the 2885 motherboard available on their website. I don't know how well they work though.
