Hi, I setup a survey to decide if we want to rename Slowroll and to what https://survey.opensuse.org/index.php?r=survey/index&sid=839619 Something like "openSUSE Tumbleweed-Slowroll edition" is nicely descriptive but a bit unwieldy. The libgda 6.0.0 release was not an "unstable" version, but in fact a new stable release series. And at least in the case of the gtk4 release, there's already a fix in Tumbleweed that has to be pulled back into Slowroll. https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1191428 While yes, it does not make sense to ship unstable versions of the GNOME library stack (as they do not promise API/ABI stability and can cause headaches in general), I think the larger point to address here is that Slowroll is intended to be something distinct from Tumbleweed. That is not the case. The genesis of Slowroll is from the fears that openSUSE Leap would cease to exist, which ultimately bore out to not be true. Slowroll itself is an incremental step toward regular release openSUSE in the form of a Tumbleweed snapshot that is maintained for more than a few days (for something like three months instead). It is *not* fundamentally different from Tumbleweed other than it exists longer. I also want to take issue with the idea that we would only ship "stable" releases as if that fixes everything. It doesn't really. Sometimes a package goes years without a "stable release" and we *do* need to ship so-called "development" or "unstable" releases so things work at all. This is a judgement call with every packager, regardless of the distribution. Sometimes that can be annoying: for example, openSUSE often ships git snapshots of things that SUSE or openSUSE makes instead of "stable releases" despite the general rule against it because they feel it makes more sense. You only would notice if something broke as a result. But since it rarely does for a variety of reasons, you don't notice it. -- 真実はいつも一つ！/ Always, there's only one truth!

Thanks for the response. I agree that Slowroll can definitely cover this use case under its release period, but my point is, in Slowroll we should *validate* the kernel version would build on NVIDIA/3rd party drivers *before* releasing a new Slowroll snapshot. Otherwise, if we don't test it, it means in the worst case, Slowroll is even worse than Tumbleweed, in which case it would stay on a kernel version that doesn't compile with NVIDIA/3rd party drivers for 20 days. I am thinking to have some CI/GH Action service to test the support the matrix of [kernel version x NVIDIA driver version], but don't have bandwidth to do it. I can update if there is any update. I feel kernel-lts flavor is an overkill for this purpose - it complicates the idea of slowroll. We only need to apply a filtering on the selection of Tumbleweed snapshots. It only needs to know if a Tumbleweed snapshot supports a selection of 3rd party kernel drivers, and if it doesn't, we skip it. Hi everyone, so do I understand correctly that the current download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed/ repo is also compatible with Slowroll? What happens if the Slowroll kernel version gets behind the Tumbleweed kernel? Will the NVidia repo maintain multiple copies of the packages that were compiled for older kernel versions? For example right now they have three kernel-specific packages, but some are for k6.6.2 and another is for k6.5.9.
