The nolisten flag is hindering you. The options are in: /etc/X11/XDM/Xservers. Just remove the "--nolisten tcp", restart X, and try your Xhost stuff. You've encountered a common "problem". SUSE decided to start your X server without listening on the tcp port for incoming connections. Try searching for a "--nolisten-tcp" (or similar) option being set in recent releases.
