[zypp-devel] zypper up installs -32bit rpm
Hi folks: I just wonder why zypper up seems to always install -32bit rpms even if those were not previously installed i.e recent with recent mysql update zypper up The following packages are going to be upgraded: libmysqlclient15 mysql mysql-client The following NEW package is going to be installed: libmysqlclient15-32bit The following NEW patch is going to be installed: libmysqlclient-devel even more , it wants to install a new patch of libmysqlclient-devel which is not installed on the system either.. This is a bug I guess.. or Im missing something here ? ;-) -- "The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education." - Albert Einstein Cristian Rodríguez R. You want to create a zypper test case and attach it to a bugzilla entry as described in the wiki. It's very likely that the patch is bogus. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Ok, I'll try to repeat this after getting some sleep..;-) but no one has observed this behaviuor before ? it happends very frecuently, happended today with mysql from update/10.3-test and a few days ago with the KDElibs update , currenly I have 106 -32bit packages installed, many of those being pulled from the patches repo by updates.. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

It can be the same issue that I had very first time I wanted to update KDE4. Problem was some 32 bit package that YaST could not get rid of. The message produced by YaST wasn't clear ie. did not give name of the installed package that prevents installation of 64 bit version so I manually marked for removal package by package until I found culprit and it was 32 bit version of libkde4. Here is the message: http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-factory/2007-10/msg00362.html and then it continues: http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-factory/2007-11/msg00100.html I never installed 64 bit version again so I wasn't able to produce zypper testcase as Stephan asked, back in November. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org
