Do you have any large (i.e. factory) repositories subscribed ?
As a matter of fact i have..
Ok, this explains it.
Factory is HUGE and libzypp parses (and loads :-() all of it.
We're working on improving this, see http://en.opensuse.org/Libzypp/Refactoring

uhm, after the refactoring we will need to download, parse, store. In case we delete original metadata, still there is a point where we will need both. Duncan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

Sure. But we do it stream-based: parse-one, store-one, parse-one, ... The current parsers do parse-all, store-all, which is a huge waste of memory. Klaus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org

I am talking about disk. The requirements in the ramdisk could be worse, unless we think how to workaround this. Duncan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: zypp-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: zypp-devel+help@opensuse.org
