Dear OSS user,

We are moving the package management for SLES to a new management server and switching from SMT to RMT. Please see the instructions below for updating your SLES servers. Note, if you are at SLES15SP2, then you must first update to SP3 and then run the commands to connect to the RMT server. Please let me know when this has been completed or if you have any issues. Once everyone is finished we will shut down the SMT server.

Note: All SLES servers deployed recently are already connected to the RMT server, however it is best to go ahead and run the script to be sure even if you are already on SP4.

If at SLES15SP3 or SLES15SP4 run the appropriate script from http://148.100.42.7/packages/

curl /home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh -o http://148.100.42.7/packages/smtreg_15sp3.sh

chmod 777 /home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh

/home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh

Your server should now be connected to the RMT server at 148.100.42.16

If at SLES15SP2, you must first update to SLES15 SP3 because SP2 is no longer supported.

sudo zypper install zypper-migration-plugin

confirm or change /etc/zypp/zypp.conf

solver.onlyRequires = true

confirm or change /etc/zypp/zypper.conf

installRecommends=false

sudo zypper migration

only choice is SLES15SP3

reboot

curl /home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh -o http://148.100.42.7/packages/smtreg_15sp3.sh

chmod 777 /home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh

/home/linux1/smtreg_15sp3.sh

Your server should now be connected to the RMT server at 148.100.42.16
