Hi, This is not so much of a bug, but a nice to have (and most systems have this) therefore I wasn't sure where to paste this question where it will be read. Apologies if this is not the place. Anyhow: I ran into this yesterday where I would've needed to set separate gateways for a bond and a bridge interface, but the only option YaST offers is the global routing which in some cases it is insufficient. However, wicked offers `ifroute` which does exactly this and which I found way too late. Would this be something that can be integrated into YaST as well or considered to be integrated? Br, A.
This is already offered by the YaST module. If you select a specific device it will create a ifroute-device file with the specific route if not it will touch the global routes file. https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/478871/55083390-c23a4200-50a3-11e9... Maybe I'm overlooking something, if that is the case maybe you could fill a bug as an enhancement providing some concrete example that is currently not supported by yast2-network. Hi Knut, Apologies for not getting back sooner, didn't get the mail. Anyhow, that was exactly my assumption, but it didn't work as it simply didn't create the route at all and once I opened YaST again the - after creating the device specific route without a default one being present - the field was empty. Was a few days ago tho so should probably check this again with a clear head. Absolutely possible that I messed up something (in fact highly likely). Bit scared to mess up my setup as it finally works the way I need it to, but going to try this in a VM at least to see what happens and report back. Br, A.
Hi again, I just done the following test in a VM on TW with 2 NIC added: - Open YaST > Network Settings - Setup enp1s0 (172.168.106.26/16) - Set enp7s0 (192.168.0.25/24 and an additional ip address 172.168.106.27/16) - Setup the routing individually setting 172.168.0.1 as the gateway for both devices ending with 2 routing for the 2 NIC - No default gateway been set - Save it This resulted in an empty routing table in YaST and didn't create any ifroute configs under /etc/sysconfig/network either. Is this a bug or I do it wrong?

Hi again,
I just done the following test in a VM on TW with 2 NIC added: - Open YaST > Network Settings - Setup enp1s0 (172.168.106.26/16) - Set enp7s0 (192.168.0.25/24 and an additional ip address 172.168.106.27/16) - Setup the routing individually setting 172.168.0.1 as the gateway for both devices ending with 2 routing for the 2 NIC - No default gateway been set - Save it
This resulted in an empty routing table in YaST and didn't create any ifroute configs under /etc/sysconfig/network either. Is this a bug or I do it wrong?
Hi, Knut manages to reproduce it ( but has some issues now to answer mail), so he reported bug and working on fix. You can see it at https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1188908 Thanks for reporting it. Josef
Hi Josef, Great. Was waiting for a confirmation and would've submitted the bug, but thanks for saving me extra turn ^_^ IRC I was able to reproduce this in 15.3 as well, but again, going to check again, but will post it under the bug then. Br, A.
