[yast-devel] SLE-15-SP2 branching
Hi there! Is there any plan for starting the SLE-15-SP2 branching? Who? When? BTW, that's comes to my mind that Iván started some time ago (during HackWeek 18?) an script[2] to ease the version bumping of YaST modules. Unfortunately, it still as WIP/PoC. Regards. Hi, I also created script for easier branching :) - see https://github.com/yast/yast-devtools/blob/master/ytools/yast2/create_mainte... Of course maybe it is not so up to date with all changes in Dockerfile and so on. But I hope that its code is straightforward enough to modify it. Regarding who and when, I think from my POV who is not important and when should be when enough people work on post SP2 changes. Currently if we all fixing stuff in SP2 it is unnecessary additional work when majority fix SP2 and few people doing post SP2 stuff can create feature branch. I am working on SP2 so I suggest to still wait with creating the branch. ciao Arvin -- Arvin Schnell, <aschnell@suse.com> Senior Software Engineer, Research & Development SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Geschäftsführer: Felix Imendörffer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for the reminder :) I think that Iván was trying to start something to cover the whole process, including bumping the package version and creating the PR, not "only" creating the maintenance branch. Anyway, I put the link just as a curiosity because probably it was not know but most of us, but for sure the stable tool is create_maintenance_branch ;)

You're completely right. Probably the right question would have been "Is someone already working on it?" ;)
and when should be when enough people work on post SP2 changes.
So, the new question is "Is someone working in SP2 stuff yet?"
Currently if we all fixing stuff in SP2 it is unnecessary additional work when majority fix SP2 and few people doing post SP2 stuff can create feature branch.
Thanks a lot Josef!

What about now? AFAIS there are more tasks for post SP2 than SP2. ciao Arvin -- Arvin Schnell, <aschnell@suse.com> Senior Software Engineer, Research & Development SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Geschäftsführer: Felix Imendörffer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org
