Why having this option so well hidden? I remember myself using it in some occasions and it can server a very good job. Unfortunately, even if the solution would be stated in bnc441188, I could not get the info... it's a non-public bug. Unfortunately, even if the solution would be stated in bnc441188, I could not get the info... it's a non-public bug.
So you found the note ;-) The reason is very simple - this option works in very specific case - when you try to boot a system from a medium that was used for the installation of the system. The issue is the kernel version - if it does not match, user can see all kind of weirdiness. So, that's why we decided to hide the option into Expert options where it belongs.
