[yast-devel] openSUSE-Factory-DVD-i586-Build0567-Media.iso
Hi, I tested latest Factory DVD and yast segfaults during bootloader config ;( I would welcome if someone can have a look. On related news: Steffen and me built a package that has all the debuginfos used in first stage initrd and make them available through "extend root-debuginfos" (when it's part of the install medium of course). Not sure if you actually need it, but I found it rather useful to have (in the NET repo). Because I have suspicious that it can be caused by new core and ycp-ui-bindings, I look at it Where I can get such DVD? Josef -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org

I am currently running an installation in VirtualBox and so far it is fine (but bootloader setup is not yet done). I use (from Nürnberg NFS) /mounts/dist/install/openSUSE-UNTESTED/openSUSE-Factory-DVD-i586-Build0567-Media.iso /mount/dist is dist.suse.de:/dist The detection of ssh as install medium is broken (bnc#825160) but that should be unrelated. Wait for some more minutes and I will report if install succeeded or not. Maybe this is one of the rare cases where having yast2 running with Y2DEBUG set would give some additonal useful information... If it helps I can simply restart install with Y2DEBUG set. Sould I? Because I have suspicious that it can be caused by new core and ycp-ui-bindings, I look at it
Where I can get such DVD?
I am currently running an installation in VirtualBox and so far it is fine (but bootloader setup is not yet done).
I use (from Nürnberg NFS) /mounts/dist/install/openSUSE-UNTESTED/openSUSE-Factory-DVD-i586-Build0567-Media.iso
/mount/dist is dist.suse.de:/dist
The detection of ssh as install medium is broken (bnc#825160) but that should be unrelated. Wait for some more minutes and I will report if install succeeded or not.
Ok, as expected crashed during bootloaders setup. Probably interesting y2log lines are:

OK, so line which cause problem is https://github.com/yast/yast-core/blob/master/libycp/src/YCPElement.cc#L95
now I need to find why there is something in element when attaching parameters to remote call.
Maybe this is one of the rare cases where having yast2 running with Y2DEBUG set would give some additonal useful information...
If it helps I can simply restart install with Y2DEBUG set. Sould I?

It is not needed. I get root of issue. I am just testing fix and if it works well, I plan to submit it and create submit request to factory.

Should be fixed in sr#182680 ( I don't have here infrastructure to test it with DUD, but root of issue from backtrace looks clear ) Josef -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org

I just built yast2-core from git master, replaced /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2wfm.so.2.0.0 in my install environemnt with updated one and the crash was indeed gone and my install succeded. Thanks for testing, I just working on non-deterministic testsuite fail, that I discuss with mvidner ( plan is to disable test until mvidner have time to look at it ). Lets hope that in factory it does build without this issue ( can be seen now in YaST:Head ) Josef -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org
