The interface of the YaST Partitioner has reached a point in which is really hard to deal with it. We need to find a way to move forward.
As a first step, we have created this document that explains the problem and we hope it can be used as a base to discuss the future of the Partitioner interface.

What I've never understood is why format/don't format and mount/don't mount are selections and not simply checkboxes. Surely it's a binary decision. So it could look like this: ┌Formatting Options──────────────┐ │ │ │ [x] Format device │ │ [x] Encrypt device │ │ │ │ Filesystem │ │ XFS▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒↓ │ │ [Options... ] │ │ │ │ [x] Keep existing password │ │ │ │ New encryption password │ │ ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ │ │ Repeat encryption password │ │ ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ │ │ │ └────────────────────────────────┘ ┌Mounting Options─────────┐ │ │ │ [x] Mount device │ │ │ │ Mount point │ │ [Fstab options...] │ │ [Crypttab options...] │ │ │ │ [Subvolume handling] │ │ │ └─────────────────────────┘ And the partition id is definitely misplaced in an fs formatting dialog. It would fit more into that otherwise rather empty partition 'role' dialog. Steffen -- Give orange me give eat orange me eat orange give me eat orange give me you.
