Hi, Personally I like the status line a lot and from a usability point of view it is a great improvement as it enables the user to see important commands at a glance. This makes the work in ncurses much more efficient and less wearisome. Or to say it without buzzwords: It makes ncurses much cooler :-) Concerning the f1-help issue: It is perfectly fine that help is only visible by request since most users don't expect any help from help texts and we rather continue to make our modules so clear that they don't require any help text per default.
