Hello, I got my suse 8.2 distribution in April. I have an i815 chip set on my computer and I had no installation problems what so ever. But each time I try to start any 3d game (example: Tux racer) it always says no 3d devices detected and the games plays at a crawl. I have enabled 3d accelaration with sax2 and checked the 3d config with 3Ddiag and everything is fine. For some strange reason, the 3d games work perfectly without any hitch if I start a new session i.e if I have the same user running twice on the same machine. Can anyone figure out why? I don't know if this mailling list is the best suited for this mail. It came the closest to what I was looking for. If it's not please let me know. Thank you, Regards, Didi ------------------------------------------------------------- NetCourrier, votre bureau virtuel sur Internet : Mail, Agenda, Clubs, Toolbar... The i815 chipset has onboard grphics? Or do you have a separate grphics board?

After sax2, did you end your graphical session? Maybe the X server simply has to be restarted before you see an effect. Ingo -- "What're quantum mechanics?" "I don't know. People who repair quantums I suppose." --Rincewind, Terry Pratchett "Eric"
