Dear listmembers, in the meantime I created a rpm that allows to set the required parameters for the mtrr settings via yast2 (System -> Editor for /etc/sysconfig -> Hardware -> Framebuffer -> Memory -> FRAMEBUFFERSIZE) Anybody who suffers from the mtrr errors and wants to test, please do so, I appreciate your feedback. Install the rpm attached to this message and set the configurations. I can supply the source - rpm, too, if anyone is interested. To refer to Alain Black's question: naturally you have to set the size accordingly - but what is accordingly the SuSE folks might know much better than I do, so, if someone of the SuSE folks could give a commentary I would highly appreciate.
