Re: [suse-xfree86] xterm - configuration in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults/XTerm
Hi SUSE 9.3 ships xterm-200. Changelog for xterm-206: [...] * modify resource files to make the font-resources a little more specific, e.g., changing "*VT100*" to "*VT100.", to make the distinction between VT100.font and VT100.utf8Fonts.font sharper, in case a packager modifies one of those. I cannot reproduce your problem. Maybe you still have "*VT100*" set somewhere, which then will be preferred. Check with "xrdb -query". Dear listmembers, dear Stefan, the problem had another root cause: in 9.3 it says (XTerm)
*VT100*font: 10x20
in 10.1 was
*VT100.font: 10x20
the latter is meaningless for actually changing the display. When putting a
*VT100*font: 10x20
entry into the file everything is ok, the size (in SuSE 10.1) is changing as expected. Seems like there is a bug in here (or I do not really understand what happens / what is the meaning / the difference between *VT100*font and *VT100.font (I mean, I can read, I see a point and an asterisk, but what does this actually change?)). If you think this is a bug please let me know, I will enter an entry in bugzilla. Stefan, your suggestion is good, but there is no /usr/share/X11/app-defaults directory here, and I think it is still 6.9 in SuSE 10.1, isn't it?
Take care
