a few seem to be missing. I'm a bit stumped, and wondering if I ought to just upgrade teh video card with an MSI MX440-T8X and hope the nvidia drivers like that better.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike -- who's also got an ASUS motherboard with onboard vieo he's going to tackle right after this one. :(
Did I see nv-something in that output?
Yes I output xdpyinfo into a text file and copied the relevant extensions into the above.
You might want to check that this newest of all nvidia drivers is actually used. Check your XF86Config file for something resembling this:
Section "Device" BoardName "The name of your card " BusID "1:0:0" Driver "nvidia" Identifier "Device[0]" Screen 0 Option "Rotate" "off" VendorName "NVidia" # Option "NvAgp" "1" EndSection
note the "nvidia" driver in stead of the nv driver. you might want to set your default runlevel to 3 while experimenting and use startx to start the server. BusID and options of course need to be set to something sensible for your card.
My config looks exactly like this excepting of course the board name is filled in as "RIVA TNT2 Model 64" and the hashed out line "# Option "NvAgp" "1" is not there. Mike
