[opensuse-xorg] excessive trouble installing legacy drivers for ATI RV250 Lf (Mobility Radeon 9000)
I posted on novell's forums about this but I doubt anyone at novell is particularly concerned with opensuse. I apologize if I sent this question to the wrong list, but xorg seemed the closest match to my problem since I'm trying to get graphics card support. I looked through all kinds of junk before i posted. Here's my problem: To make a long story short, adding opensuse-community.org as a repository was not working - it spent about ten minutes downloading who knows what (a bunch of small files, judging from the speed with which the windows popped up and disappeared), and then gave me a bunch of error messages. Fantastic. I then removed every trace of ATI from yast, and tried to use this link: opensuse-community.org/ati-legacy.ymp That didn't seem as bad in terms of actually adding the repository, but then I got this recommendation from yast due to a conflict: #### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2008-04-03 21:36:18 #### This would invalidate atom:kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586. atom:kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586 has unfulfilled requirements === atom:kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586 === kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586[openSUSE-10.3-Updates] provides kernel-default == 2.6.22.17-0.1, but another version of that package is already installed. kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586 provides kernel-default == 2.6.22.17-0.1, but is scheduled to be uninstalled. Can't satisfy requirement kernel-default >= 2.6.22.17-0.1 for atom:kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586 atom:kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586 will be evaluated for installation (freshened) by kernel-default-2.6.22.13-0.3.i586[openSUSE-10.3-Updates] (kernel-default == 2.6.22.13-0.3) (null) Conflict Resolution: ( ) delete kernel-default #### YaST2 conflicts list END ### No thanks! Where should I go from here? I feel like the opensuse-community.org should at least be notified that their repository isn't working very well with openSUSE 10.3. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org
