Is it possible to force the xdm to reload settings?
Hi everybody, can anybody tell me, if it is possible to tell the xdm to reload its settings. I told the server to listen to tcp connections in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers and if possible I do not want to restart the whole graphical system. Probably a kill -HUP or kill -SIGUSR? will do that. Any ideas? Have a nice and sunny weekend. Martin

sure, restart X, ie: "init 3", "init 5" -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

But this then restarts the GUI which is what he wants to avoid. Cheers, Ingo -- Ingo Strauch ---- Registered Linux User #227900 (http://counter.li.org/) GPG Key Fingerprint = DEC8 1B12 9573 6BE7 7A99 C33F 809C 8C2C 772E 66A1 http://www.the-one-brack.org/
