Re: [opensuse-xorg] matrox KMS driver blocked by matrox_w1
Xorg.0.logs of attempts (plus one of same system booted to 12.1 running 1600x1200 and virtual 1920x1200), all prior to discovering modprobe -r matrox_w1: http://fm.no-ip.com/Tmp/Linux/Xorg/Mga/ Key message contained in logs: [ 37.258] (EE) mga: The PCI device 0x525 at 01@00:00:0 has a kernel module claiming it. [ 37.258] (EE) mga: This driver cannot operate until it has been unloaded. lsmod output includes matrox_w1. What's causing it to load? If I unload it, the mga driver works. How do I prevent it from loading? X won't start properly on boot because of it. I guess, you should try adding the line blacklist matrox_wl to the file "/etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf" (or, better, to your own file in "/etc/modprobe.d", e.g. "50-myblacklist.conf" so that it did not disappear after some update). On 06.06.2013 14:23, Felix Miata wrote:
