I've been completely unsuccessful in getting multiple monitors working on Suse 9.2, but the fact that I had exactly the same problem with X.org and XFree86 is puzzling.

Just trying to guess obviously, but did you tried to modprobe the relevant dri module for the intel card? And, if that locks up, to modprobe agpgart module to see if it likes the hardware? Ciao, Roberto!
