[opensuse-xorg] rgb.txt
Hi all, i have added a few colors to rgb.txt but the files gets ignored. i set RgbPath in xorg.conf and the file is found by the server (confirmed by Xorg.0.log) but every time i try xterm -bg COLOR if fails. i even tried to sort rgb.txt but no success at all. btw: SuSE10.2, xorg-x11-libs-7.2-21 re, wh -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org

I'm not sure whether this actually was pushed through and kept, but some neurons here seem to think that Redhats Adam "let's do some rm -Rf" Jackson threw away rgb.txt around the 7.0 or 7.1 era. I'm not sure whether one can anymore. I remember mentioning this to egbert back in the day when this happened, and he rolled his eyes and grunted, but that is as far as it went then. Ajax is still continuing down the same path, who knows how many other, silent, victims there are out there already. i guess i can use Xcms.txt but no clue how to define colors there. re, wh -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org
1. rgb.txt is dead 2. rgbpath is not an error but ignored 3. you need to use Xcms.txt SuSE should remove all traces of rgb.txt and tools and add some documentation how to handle Xcms.txt i would suggest to copy colornames from rgb.txt to Xcms.txt. One question remains xterm knows names like "gold" and "blue" where are the names stored ??? re, wh walter harms wrote:
